Hawke’s Bay’s climate, beaches and wineries make it a popular tourist destination, but its diverse economy is also recognised for producing high quality primary products such as beef, lamb, wine and fruit and vegetables.
Agriculture and manufacturing are the region’s main industries and biggest employers, with the growing health care and social assistance sector also making a strong contribution.
As well as being the leading exporter of premium primary produce, the Hawkes’s Bay has ambitious plans to also be New Zealand’s most innovative region and a hub for business growth.
